Historical perspective of Republic Day

India became a dependent state on August 15, 1947-after that because it was free does not imply it made a sovereign State. India was in need of setting up a set of rules via a constitution that would provide good governance, save the interests of individual citizens, and contribute to justice, freedom, and equality for every one of its citizens. The forthcoming realization of the document on January 26, 1950, marked officially both these events. It is particularly significant that the day of its enforcement happens to have been the day when the Indian National Congress set off a declaration of proof from the British in 1930. From that time forward, January 26 each year has been seen as a day for the Republic Day when the magnificence of the Rule of Law prevails over democracy itself.

Foundations of a Constitution: A Journey of Strength

The Constitution is more than a mere legal document; the aspirations of millions of Indians were gathered into its form, yielding the principles of justice, equality, and fraternity that provide sustenance for every citizen to flourish in a caste-less, religion-less, gender-less India. The significance of time, vis-à-vis the aspired changes, has been brought about by amendments in the Constitution without harming the core principles.

The Fundamental Rights moving the Constitution contribute to freedom of speech, religion, and equality before the law. The rights provide foundational power to the citizens so that they can become implementers of maximal effective activity through a democratic course, thus ensuring government accountability. Other principles which guide the state towards promoting social and economic welfare are on par.
